Poland’s Ministry of the Interior and Administration has reported that the country’s authorities discovered wreckage from eight drones and parts of a missile.

TVP reports this, according to Ukrinform.

The General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces stated at a press conference that the drone wreckage was found in several locations. Most of it was discovered in the east of the country, in Lublin Voivodeship.

Parts of a missile, described as being of “unknown origin,” were found 50 kilometers from the Belarusian border, in the village of Wyhalew.

The Lublin Voivodeship police reported that wreckage was also found in the village of Czosnówka, near the Belarusian border.

Reuters news agency published images which, according to them, show parts of a damaged drone shot down near the city of Zamość in southeastern Poland.

Further from the border, wreckage was found near the city of Łódź and in the town of Olesno, 400 kilometers from the Polish border.

Poland’s General Police Headquarters reported that about 12,000 police officers have been deployed in the search for drone wreckage.

Earlier, the Director of the Public Communication Department of Poland’s Minister of the Interior and Administration, Karolina Gałecka, stated that the missile wreckage could be an air defense missile, The Guardian writes.

Speaking at the same briefing, the spokesperson for the Armed Forces Operational Command, Jacek Goryszewski, said that several drones sighted during the night resembled Gerbera decoy drones, although this information is still being verified.

According to the BBC, Gałecka also noted that one drone was found in a field in Mniszków, in Łódź Voivodeship in central Poland, about 250 km from the Belarusian border, and another was discovered near the city of Elbląg in northern Poland.

One of the damaged drones was found in a field in the village of Czosnówka near Biała Podlaska in Lublin Voivodeship. In the town of Wyryki, Włodawa County, Lublin Voivodeship, the wreckage of a Russian drone shot down that night fell on a residential building.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that NATO allies are facing a large-scale provocation from Moscow due to the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones.

According to him, a total of 19 drones entered Polish airspace during the night. Tusk said that three or four drones were shot down by Polish F-16s and Dutch F-35s.
