Ukraine develops device for extracting shrapnel from human body

This was reported by the Communications Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to Ukrinform.

The National Academy of Internal Affairs and the Main Medical Clinical Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are expanding their research cooperation.

"The first patent for a device to extract encapsulated ferromagnetic foreign bodies was recently officially handed over to the hospital's leadership. The device is intended for surgical use, particularly in field conditions," the statement reads.

According to the Ministry, the device effectively removes bullet and shell fragments with ferromagnetic properties that have deeply penetrated soft tissues of the body.

As previously reported, students in Zakarpattia developed a walking cane with an SOS button and GPS tracker that could help save lives.
