Ukrainian Center in Lithuania hosts over 4,300 events, Zelenska says

Over the three years of its existence, the Ukrainian Center in Lithuania has held more than 4,300 events for adults and children.

This was reported by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, according to Ukrinform, citing the website of the head of state.

In her video address on the occasion of the third anniversary of the center's founding, the president's wife thanked everyone involved in the creation and operation of this space.

"It's easy enough to help once. It's much harder to help ‘in the long run’ without asking how long it will take. It's easy enough to show hospitality once. It is much more difficult and mature to open your heart for a long time without asking when it will end. This is exactly how Lithuania has been acting: consistently, selflessly, systematically, and reliably from the first day of the Russian invasion until now," Zelenska said.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian Center is the first cultural and educational space in the European Union, created on the initiative of the wives of the presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania in June 2022. Language courses and informal training are held there every day, and cultural and sporting events are organized. Every summer, a children's camp operates at the center. More than two-thirds of all events are organized by Ukrainians themselves.

The center represents Ukrainian projects and creative groups at fairs, festivals, concerts, and art events. It also hosts international events.

"There is no other center like this, sponsored by both countries. Nowhere else is there a center that gives Ukrainians so many opportunities — without a time limit, without conditions or restrictions," Zelenska emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, in May, a large-scale solidarity campaign with Ukraine called “Rankomis už Ukrainą” (“Hands for Ukraine”) took place throughout Lithuania.
