First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska and First Lady of the Republic of Türkiye Emine Erdoğan visited an orphanage in Ankara that accommodates children evacuated from Odesa’s Sonechko orphanage.

Olena Zelenska announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

She recalled that 34 orphans with disabilities were evacuated to Türkiye at the beginning of the Russian invasion thanks to an agreement between the First Ladies. Since then, 24 children have already found new families in Ukraine, and 10 remain in Türkiye.

“Today, during my visit to Turkey, I am visiting 10 children who remain under the hospitable Turkish care. Some of these children are undergoing treatment and surgery, which is necessary for their well-being and development,” Zelenska added.
