Russian media outlet’s campaign exploiting Ukraine war footage canceled - envoy

“Well, it seems that we have stopped Meduza’s winter invasion in Europe and Canada. I just received a response from the creative director and founder of LURE to my yesterday’s letter. The main thing in the letter is that Lure has removed all materials related to the campaign from the network and instructed partners to immediately cease displaying them on any platforms. ‘The cessation of the circulation of all campaign-related materials’ means the end of the campaign,” he wrote.
He added it was necessary to make sure that the campaign is really being canceled.
“Therefore, please report if you see any more of these videos or visual advertising,” he noted.
As reported, the other day, a member of the Ukrainian civic association ‘Viche Berlin’ Viktoriya Feshak saw an ad for a Russian media outlet in a Berlin movie theater. According to the activist, the video contained footage of explosions in Ukraine and a photo of Yaroslav Bazylevych, a man whose wife and three daughters were killed last year as a result of the Russian strike targeting Lviv.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the use of footage of the war in Ukraine in the advertising campaign for the English-language version of the Russian publication Meduza.
Seven people were killed in a Russian missile strike in Lviv on September 4, 2024, including 43-year-old Yevheniya Bazylevych and her three daughters: Emilia, 7, Daryna, 18, and Yaryna, 21. Sixty-six people were injured in the same attack.
