NPC Ukrenergo does not expect any power outages in the summer due to a lack of electricity.

Chairman of the Board of Directors Volodymyr Kudrytskyi said this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The situation is not easy, even in summer. However, we do not expect any power outages due to the lack of electricity in the power system," Kudrytskyi said.

According to him, to minimize risks during the autumn-winter period, four elements are important: repairs of damaged power facilities (substations, power plants); engineering protection that will reduce the consequences of possible strikes; economical electricity consumption and the density of the air defense system.

"It is physically impossible to restore 100% of the damage to the power system in the 8 months since the shelling stopped," said the CEO of Ukrenergo.

He emphasized that under such conditions, it is necessary to allocate resources in such a way as to repair as many facilities as possible.

Kudrytskyi also noted that power engineers need to engage all available generation by winter. In addition, the autumn-winter period will be difficult without electricity imports.

As reported, on August 2, another nuclear power unit went down for scheduled maintenance, which reduced the capacity of nuclear power plants.
