Georgian law enforcement officers have released Ukrainian citizen Dmytro Zakrevskyi, who was detained during the protests in Batumi.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko told Ukrinform.

"(The detained Ukrainian -ed.) was released," Nikolenko said.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Ukrainian diplomats are working to gain access to Ukrainian citizen Maryna Chobanian, who was detained during the protests in Batumi, and to release her.

As reported, the cruise ship Astoria Grande arrived from Russian Sochi to Georgian Batumi on Thursday. The arrival of the ship provoked a protest by the Georgian opposition.

Then law enforcement officers detained 23 people, including Ukrainian Maryna Chobanian.

On Tuesday, August 1, it became known that Ukrainian citizen Dmytro Zakrevskyi was also among the detainees.
