"We are ready to study and implement typical Latvian project solutions for schools, kindergartens or other social infrastructure facilities. We are already encouraging local authorities to work on comprehensive programs for the development of territories. They will become the basis for the global renewal of the country. These plans cannot be imposed from above, each community must pave its own way of development. Our task as the ministry is to provide support in the creation of such programs," Kubrakov emphasized.

He added that the ministry invites Latvian business to work in Ukraine, in particular, in energy-related projects. The Deputy Prime Minister believes that the Black Sea and Danube port terminals’ concession projects, private-state partnerships in the modernization of heat and water supply, as well as waste processing are promising for Latvian investments.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Latvia has provided Ukraine with over EUR 388 million in military aid, which is over 1.2% of Latvia's GDP.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development is planning to restore Chernihiv region together with UNESCO experts.
