Canada donates demining equipment to Ukraine worth $16 million

The first batch of demining equipment purchased by Canada worth over $16 million has arrived in Ukraine. 

That's according to the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, an Ukrinform reports.

"Canada’ s first delivery of CAD 22.5 million in demining equipment for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine! These vehicles will be used to clear farmland, returning it to productive use and helping restore food security," the statement said.

It is noted that this equipment will be used to clear agricultural land, restoring its productive use and helping to restore food security.

As reported, according to official data, up to 30% of Ukraine's territory is mined by Russians.
