Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska has met with representatives of the Ukrainian Women's Initiative (UWI), an informal association of Ukrainian women, in the United Arab Emirates.

According to Ukrinform, she said this in a post on her Telegram channel.

"This is people's diplomacy, when the country is represented by its citizens. This is what is happening now, when millions of Ukrainians are abroad because of the war and bring their culture and language with them. In the UAE, people's diplomacy was embodied in the Ukrainian Women's Initiative (UWI) - an informal association of Ukrainian women. And today I was very glad to meet with its representatives," Zelenska said.

Launched in 2021 with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine, the community holds webinars and training sessions to inform about the country's culture and employment, combating gender-based violence and protecting the rights of women and children. The organization's partners include the Embassy of Ukraine, the Ukrainian community in the UAE, and others.

"Ukrainians will always help each other in any situation. People's diplomacy is a power no less than professional diplomacy. After all, it is everywhere where there are active Ukrainians, and together with them is Ukraine," Zelenska said.
