The majority of Ukrainian citizens (58.9% of respondents) believe that events in Ukraine are developing in the right direction, according to a survey conducted by the Razumkov Center and the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation.

Andriy Bychenko, director of the sociological service of the Razumkov Center, said this at a press conference at Ukrinform on Wednesday, January 25.

"The absolute majority of respondents - 58.9% - believe that events in Ukraine are developing in the right direction, despite the fact that a war is going on in the country," he said.

Some 23.6% of respondents believe that events are developing in the wrong direction, whereas 17.5% of those polled could not answer.

The survey revealed that 74.8% of respondents believe the international image of Ukraine compared to the beginning of 2022 has changed for the better. Also, most citizens positively assess the changes in the country's defense capabilities.

At the same time, 86.8% of citizens believe that the level of prices and tariffs in the country has changed for the worse, and 83% said the economic situation in Ukraine had changed for the worse.

A nationwide survey was conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center and the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation from December 13 to 21, 2022.

The face-to-face survey was held across the country. In the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Kherson regions, it was conducted only in areas controlled by the Ukrainian government and where hostilities are not taking place.

As many as 2,018 respondents aged over 18 were interviewed. The poll's margin of error does not exceed 2.3%.
