The United Kingdom plans to join the implementation of the plan for the restoration of the healthcare system of Ukraine.

"The United Kingdom has been providing humanitarian support to Ukraine from the first days and intends to join the implementation of the plan for the restoration of the healthcare system," said Deputy Minister of Health Oleksiy Yaremenko, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reports.

According to him, thanks to the systematic support of international partners, who provide both humanitarian and financial assistance, the domestic healthcare system has survived more than five difficult months of war.

"Now we are building our cooperation, in particular, around the post-war reconstruction of the healthcare sector and involving international partners in the restoration of healthcare facilities that were damaged by the Russian occupiers," Yaremenko said.

It is noted that Great Britain has sent about 60 ambulances, tens of tonnes of critically important medicines and medical equipment to Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Besides participation in the process of restoring the healthcare sector, British specialists are also ready to exchange experience with Ukrainian colleagues in the area of rehabilitation.

As reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal presented the Recovery Plan of Ukraine at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Lugano (Switzerland) on July 4.

It is estimated that the restoration of critically important damaged infrastructure will require almost $17.4 billion.
