Irpin, Miami to become sister cities

The cities of Irpin in Ukraine's Kyiv region and Miami in the United States will become sister cities.

According to Ukrinform, Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn said this in a Telegram post.

According to him, city council deputies made a respective decision at a session on Tuesday, August 2. In Miami, a similar decision was made in late July.

"Ahead of us is the signing of an agreement on twinning and cooperation with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez," Markushyn said.

A group of U.S. senators visited Irpin on July 23. Among them were Senator Adam Smith of Ohio, Senator Mike Quigley of Connecticut, Senator Mikie Sherrill of New Hampshire, Senator Elissa Slotkin of Minnesota and Senator Michael Waltz of North Dakota.
