Estonia accepts over 47,000 Ukrainian refugees

The number of Ukrainians fleeing the Russian war, who have been accepted in Estonia, has reached 47,002.

This was reported by the ERR national TV and radio broadcaster, citing data from the Estonian Police and Border Guard Agency, according to Ukrinform.

On Tuesday alone, 379 war refugees from Ukraine arrived in Estonia, including 64 children. For 232, the country is a transit point as they wish to continue their journey to a third country.

Another 147 people remained in Estonia.

Earlier, the Estonian government said that a plan had been developed to accommodate up to 50,000 Ukrainian refugees.

On February 24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Martial law has been introduced and general mobilization has been announced as the nation is repelling the enemy onslaught.
