The charitable foundation of Howard Buffett, US businessman and son of billionaire Warren Buffett, donated $2.7 million to Ukraine.

As the Voice of America reports, the donation was transferred to the Spirit of America organization. This company will send Ukraine nine 50 seater buses for the needs of Ukraine's Territorial Defense forces. Also, these funds will be used to purchase 375 newest trauma kits for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the forefront.

“I’ve never quite seen anything like this in my lifetime. It’s millions of refugees trying to leave the country and it’s just an overwhelming situation for the country... I believe we’ve got to support Ukraine in this fight. It’s a difficult fight for them,” said Howard Buffett.

Howard Buffett is the son of billionaire Warren Buffett. He heads the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and is the director of the Berkshire Hathaway multinational conglomerate.

The primary focus areas of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation are food security, conflict mitigation, and the fight against human trafficking.

Howard Buffett visited Ukraine last week. On Wednesday, June 8, he met with the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelensky called on Howard Buffett to invest in Ukraine, in particular, to join the project to restore irrigation systems in Odesa region, mine clearance throughout the country, and the reform of school nutrition.

On February 24, Russia launched a new phase of the war against Ukraine – a full-scale invasion. Russian invaders shell and bomb Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages, torture and kill civilians. Ukraine's defense forces are fiercely resisting Russian troops. As of June 14, about 32,500 Russian personnel were eliminated.
