International organizations are running five programs worth a total of over UAH 10 billion in Ukraine to support internally displaced persons.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal spoke of this at a government meeting on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Thanks to the effective cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers and international organizations, we managed to launch five more programs to support internally displaced persons. These are programs with the UN, UNICEF, and ICRC. They are similar in principle to government programs and provide for payments of UAH 2,200-2,500 for the most vulnerable strata. It is important that we are talking not only about IDPs, but also about supporting large families, low-income retirees, single mothers, and persons with disabilities. We managed to reach an agreement on financing all these programs in the amount of over UAH 10 billion to support more than 2 million Ukrainian citizens," Shmyhal said.

On February 24, the Russian Federation launched a new phase of its war against Ukraine – a full-scale invasion. Since March, the government has been implementing a Presidential program to help Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their homes due to hostilities. The state paid each IDP a minimum monthly allowance of UAH 2,000 plus UAH 3,000 per child.

There is also an employment program for all IDPs. The government pays employers who hire migrants from the affected regions in the amount of UAH 6,500 for each employee.
