Klitschko says Kyiv may soon leave red zone of COVID-19 restrictions

Kyiv may soon leave the "red" zone of COVID-19 restrictions and move to the "orange" zone, if the incidence of COVID-19 continues to decline.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this on the air of Kyiv TV channel, Ukrinform reports.

“We now have a positive tendency, and I hope that if this tendency continues, we will be able to leave the red zone and move to the orange zone in the near future," said Klitschko.

At the same time, the hospital occupancy rate in Kyiv currently totals 58%, which is slightly less than in previous days.

According to Klitschko, Kyiv city recorded 358 new coronavirus cases on November 21.

Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the capital has reached 288,063 cases.

Among people who have contracted COVID-19 in Kyiv over the course of the past day are 196 women aged 18-92 years, 137 men aged 18-85 years, 13 girls aged 1-17 years and 12 boys aged between three months and 16 years.

As many as 32 lethal cases related to COVID-19 were recorded in Kyiv on November 21 (7,214 in total).

According to Klitschko, 58 patients with coronavirus, 185 patients with suspected COVID-19 and pneumonia were hospitalized on November 21.

At the same time, 764 people have recovered over the course of the past day. In total, 245,958 Kyiv residents have overcome the disease.

As reported, Ukraine recorded 7,464 new COVID-19 cases on November 21.
