Ukraine submits Bad Roads for Oscars race

Ukraine submitted Natalka Vorozhbyt's Bad Roads for the Best International Feature Film Award at the 2022 Academy Awards.

As an Ukrinform correspondent reports, it became known after Ukraine’s Oscar Committee meeting on September 24.

"In the 2021 season, Natalka Vorozhbyt's film Bad Roads is submitted for the International Feature Film race," said Alik Shpyliuk, chairman of the Oscar committee.

Bad Roads consists of four short stories. The events take place on the roads of eastern Ukraine in 2015. Four broken roads, four types of relationships, issues of love, trust, betrayal, hatred, and violation of personal boundaries against the background of violation of the state border.

The deadline for submissions to the Academy is November 1, 2021. A shortlist of 15 finalists is scheduled to be announced on December 21, with the final five nominees announced on February 8, 2022.
