Repeated vaccination against COVID-19 in Ukraine is likely to be done next year, so it is important to vaccinate the country's entire adult population by the end of this year so as not to combine the two processes.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a press conference on Tuesday, September 14.

"Revaccination could be done next year. All countries are preparing for it because it's not clear which variants will appear and how the virus will behave. Combining vaccination and revaccination is very undesirable because this will disrupt a certain rhythm. Therefore, it is very important to vaccinate as many people as possible by the end of the year," Shmyhal said.

At present, according to him, there are ten million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine from four manufacturers in Ukraine, and more than one million COVID-19 vaccine doses are administered every week.

About 11 million doses have been given so far, and 4.8 million people have been fully vaccinated, he said.

According to Shmyhal, this is a little more than 25% of the adult population. According to him, it is planned that 24-25 million people, or all of the country's adult population, should be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the year.
