The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) discussed possible cooperation in counteracting the hybrid war that is being waged against our country in the information space.

This was discussed during a meeting between SBU Chief Ivan Bakanov and UWC President Paul Grod, the SBU website reports.

"A hybrid war is going on not only in eastern Ukraine, but also in the information space, including a foreign one. Russia is making every effort to spread its destructive narratives as much as possible. Your Congress, which unites millions of Ukrainian people, brings the truth to the world and upholds a clear position on the Ukrainian-Russian conflict," Bakanov said.

He thanked the Congress for its systematic work in support of Ukraine on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration and advocacy of its interests in the international arena.

In turn, Grod noted that “countering Russian agents of influence in Ukraine and around the world remains one of the UWC's ongoing priorities." "We are ready for further constructive cooperation at all levels in the protection of Ukrainian interests," he said.

Bakanov told how the special service counteracts Russian propaganda in order to prevent the undermining and destabilization of the situation in Ukraine.

"I am convinced that with the support of civil society, our work can be even more effective. So let's work together to protect the interests of our homeland," the SBU head emphasized.

In particular, such interaction is possible in conveying to the international community objective information about the events in Ukraine related to Russian aggression.

The Congress may also involve leading experts in national security and countering terrorism in international cooperation activities.
