Latvia sends humanitarian cargo to Ukraine for people with special needs
"It is especially gratifying that the 50th aid truck left for Ukraine ahead of the anniversary [of its independence]. And our first such cargo was sent in June 2014. For seven years we helped the victims of the war as best we could. All this was sent to social homes, orphanages, and hospitals. This aid is very important to those people, and not only financially, but also psychologically, so that they do not feel abandoned," Pavliuk said.
According to him, the cargo was sent to Kyiv-based Chas Vidrodzhennya (Time for Revival) charitable foundation for hospitals and rehabilitation centres of Ukraine, for adults and children. The cargo contains special devices, various wheelchairs, crutches, etc.
"Summing up some of the results of our work, I want to thank everyone involved, all the people who were not indifferent, who did not stay aside: from donors to those who participated in loading the humanitarian cargo, at least once out of those 50 times," Pavliuk said.
