143 cases of COVID-19 Delta variant have been officially confirmed in Ukraine.

“As for Delta variant, a few weeks ago we talked about 17 cases. Currently, 143 cases have been officially confirmed at the national level. That is, the variant is spreading across the territory of Ukraine,” Deputy Health Minister, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin said on the air of Ukrainian Radio, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, the biggest number of Delta cases were recorded in Volyn, Odesa, Ternopil regions, Chernivtsi and Kyiv cities.

However, according to him, vaccination protects against Delta.
