Over two million Ukrainians vaccinated for COVID-19

Over the past 24 hours, on July 30, Ukrainian medics administered 150,080 jabs for COVID-19, bringing the number of fully vaccinated citizens to 2,000,356.

That’s according to the press service of the Ministry of Health, Ukrinform reports.

Over the past day, 88,219 people received their first dose of the vaccine, while 61,861 were fully immunized.

A total of 873 mobile vaccination teams offered their services, while citizens were also invited to get their jabs at 2,485 vaccination points and 255 vaccination centers.

Since the launch of the inoculation campaign, 3,525,850 persons have been vaccinated, of whom 3,525,848 have so far received a single dose and 2,000,356 have been fully immunized (two citizens received their first dose outside Ukraine).

A total of 5,526,204 vaccinations have been performed.

Vaccination for COVID-19 kicked off in Ukraine on February 24, 2021. Anyone over the age of 18 can be vaccinated against COVID-19. Priority is provided to vulnerable groups, including those over the age of 60 and persons with underlying conditions. Priority groups also include doctors, educators, social workers, and the military who come into contact with large crowds.

Employees in the field of health care, education, social sphere, military, security agencies, critical infrastructure facilities, public authorities and local governments at all levels, as well as teams of more than 50 employees willing to get the jab are offered to undergo vaccination at their respective offices.

All COVID-19 vaccines used in Ukraine are approved by WHO for emergency use. They are safe and effective. In Ukraine, the following vaccines are in circulation: AstraZeneca (including SKBio and Covishield); Coronavac/Sinovac-Biotech; Comirnaty/Pfizer-BioNTech; and Spikevax/Moderna.
