Parliament ratifies Ukraine–Turkey agreement on housing for Crimean Tatar people

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified a framework agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the construction of housing for representatives of the Crimean Tatar people and benefit-entitled Ukrainian citizens.

As an Ukrinform correspondent reports, 333 MPs voted for Law №0110 "On Ratification of the Framework Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Cooperation in Construction of Housing for Representatives of the Crimean Tatar People and Benefit-Entitled Ukrainian Citizens".

According to the document, the Turkish side provides non-refundable assistance through the construction of 500 apartments for representatives of the Crimean Tatar people and benefit-entitled Ukrainian citizens. In particular, 200 apartments will be built in Mykolayiv city, 200 – in Kherson city, 100 – in Kyiv city.

In addition, goods, equipment, and mechanisms, as well as construction machinery (including temporarily imported) necessary for the performance of construction works are exempt from taxes, customs duties, and any other mandatory payments, levied on the territory of Ukraine in accordance with the national legislation of Ukraine.

As reported, the framework agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the construction of housing for representatives of the Crimean Tatar people and benefit-entitled Ukrainian citizens was concluded on April 10, 2021.
