Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says Ukraine is looking forward to the completion of an audit of its digital COVID certificates by the European Commission.

He said this at a government meeting on Wednesday, June 30, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We are in a constant negotiation process with the Europeans and are looking forward to the completion of the audit of our electronic certificate by the European Commission. Our goal is to return the Ukrainians the opportunity to travel freely around the world. I instruct Vice Prime Minister for European Integration Olha Stefanishyna to step up work on completing the audit of electronic certificates and signing the relevant agreement with the European Commission," Shmyhal said.

The prime minister reminded that the government had already approved a decree defining the procedure for the use of such certificates. Beta testing of digital COVID certificates in the Diia mobile application will begin on July 1. "Everything is ready for the launch of documents," the head of government stressed.

Shmyhal also said that 130 COVID-19 vaccination centers are already operating in Ukraine, and noted the role of local authorities in opening such centers.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna announced that Ukraine would complete work on vaccination certificates by the end of June. She assured that the document will comply with EU standards and will allow resuming travel of Ukrainians to EU countries.
