Culture Ministry working on Strategy for Development of Creative Industries

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy is elaborating the Strategy for the Development of Creative Industries and the State Target Program for Folk Arts and Crafts.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy Larysa Petasiuk said this at the international festival “The Territory of Women,” an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are currently working on the Strategy for the Development of Creative Industries and the State Target Program for Folk Arts and Crafts," she said.

Petasiuk reminded that a preferential VAT rate of 7% for culture, creative industries and tourism was introduced on January 1, 2021.

"Creative industries are about freedom and self-expression, it's about creativity, it's about activity," the deputy minister said.

As reported, the Council for the Development of Creative Economy was established under the Cabinet of Ministers on May 19. Its first meeting took place on June 8.
