The development of dual education in Ukraine is an important area for the government, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

He stated this at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Education and Science" in Kyiv on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"It's obvious that dual education is the future. Therefore, we want children, as the president said, not only to receive theory […] but also to come out practically trained. Therefore, in fact, an element of dual education in the vocation sphere is critically important and critically necessary," Shmyhal said.

He stressed that close cooperation with educational institutions is successful, because then the business receives trained specialists who have not only high-quality theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills.

He noted that a positive signal in this context was a decree signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on the establishment of the Presidential University of the Future.

"We want to compete for an extremely high quality of education for our children not only in vocational education, but also in higher education - when several hundred children at the beginning and several thousand children in the future will be able to receive quality basic education both in theory and in a balanced manner in practice," Shmyhal added.

Zelensky signed a decree on the establishment of the Presidential University of the Future during the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Education and Science" in Kyiv on May 31.

On May 11, Zelensky announced the opening of a new university in Ukraine to train specialists in the sphere of security.

Subsequently, following a meeting at the President's Office, it emerged that Ukraine by September 2023 planned to build a national university that should become an innovative educational space for training professionals in the latest technologies.
