Stepanov: Ukraine expects to receive almost 1M doses of Pfizer vaccine in May

As early as in May, Ukraine expects to receive about 1 million doses of coronavirus vaccine from Pfizer, including 473,850 doses under the COVAX Facility and up to 500,000 doses under a direct contract with the manufacturer.

Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov said this on the air of Nash TV Channel, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, 473,850 doses of the Pfizer vaccine under the COVAX Facility are expected to arrive in Ukraine until May 17-18.

According to Stepanov, this vaccine will be given to people over the age of 60.

He also added that another batch of the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine should arrive in Ukraine by the end of the current month: "We have received confirmation, including from the Chinese ambassador to Ukraine, that 500,000 doses of the vaccine will arrive in Ukraine by April 30”.

As reported, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko said that on April 21, Ukraine received a letter from COVAX saying that another 1,400,000 doses of AstraZeneca-SKBio vaccine (manufactured in South Korea) would be delivered by the end of May.
