Ukraine reports 12,711 new coronavirus cases

Ukraine has recorded 12,711 new coronavirus cases over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 2,017,341, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

"Some 12,711 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been recorded in Ukraine as of April 24, 2021. In particular, 532 children and 230 health workers contracted COVID-19," Stepanov posted on Facebook.

According to the minister, 392 deaths, 13,687 recoveries and 3,508 hospitalizations were registered in Ukraine in the last day.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 42,092 deaths and 1,565,954 recoveries have been recorded.

The highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours was registered in Dnipropetrovsk region (1,268), Kyiv city (1,027), Kharkiv region (964), Odesa region (841), and Kyiv region (815).

In addition, according to Stepanov, on April 23, 14,339 people in Ukraine were vaccinated against the coronavirus. In total, 522,385 people have been vaccinated since the start of vaccination campaign.
