COVID-19 hospitalization rates exceeded in Kyiv city, 18 regions – Ministry of Health

Kyiv city and 12 regions in Ukraine have been included in the red zone of the COVID-19 quarantine, Ukrinform reports with reference to data published on the Ukrainian Ministry of Health's website.

As of April 20, Kyiv city, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions are in the red zone

The COVID-19-associated hospitalization rates (60 per 100,000 people) have been exceeded in Kyiv city and 18 regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions.

As of April 19, the highest COVID-19-associated hospitalization rates were recorded in Khmelnytskyi region - 116.2 per 100,000, Chernihiv region - 96.4, Sumy region – 89.0, and Cherkasy region - 89.8. In Kyiv city, this rate amounted to 74.7.

The highest oxygen bed occupancy rates were registered in Kyiv city – 75.3%, Odesa region – 73.4%, Lviv region – 70%, and Kyiv region – 70.5% (with the established capacity set at 65%).

As reported, Ukraine recorded 8,940 new coronavirus cases on April 19.
