Kyiv reports 1,864 new coronavirus cases

Kyiv has recorded 1,864 new coronavirus cases in the past day, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

"The city has recorded 1,864 new patients over the past day, 48 people have died - 31 women and 17 men," he said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to Klitschko, 3,797 lethal cases from the virus have been recorded in the capital since the start of the pandemic. A total number of confirmed cases in Kyiv have reached 174,267.

Among people who have contracted COVID-19 in Kyiv in the past day are 1,087 women aged 18-90 years; 25 girls aged 1-15 years; 732 men aged 18-86 years; 20 boys aged between seven months and 16 years old. Sixty-two health workers are among new COVID-19 patients.

At the same time, 688 people have recovered in Kyiv over the course of the past day. In total, 110,137 Kyiv residents have overcome the disease.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine recorded 19,676 new coronavirus over the course of April 8.
