More than 18,000 people in Ukraine vaccinated against COVID-19 in past day

As many as 18,569 people in Ukraine were vaccinated against COVID-19 yesterday, April 8, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Ministry of Health’s website.

In total, 353,147 people in Ukraine have been vaccinated since the start of vaccination campaign. In particular, people vaccinated with first dose – 353,141, fully vaccinated people (received two doses) - 5.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine launched the coronavirus vaccination campaign on February 24, 2021.

According to Ukraine’s national vaccination plan, vaccination is voluntary and includes five stages. Medical personnel working in hospitals designated for treatment of COVID-19 patients are among those offered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines, as well as workers of mobile teams that carry out coronavirus vaccination.

As of April 9, Ukraine recorded 19,676 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,823,674. In particular, 419 deaths, 11,221 recoveries and 4,936 hospitalizations were registered in Ukraine on April 8.
