
Ukrainian-language audio guide to be launched at National Museum of Qatar
Such agreements were reached after talks between Olena Zelenska and Chairperson of Qatar Museums Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the press service of the Head of State informs.
"I want the Ukrainian language to be heard in historical landmarks wherever Ukrainians are. The launch of the first Ukrainian-language audio guide in Qatar is a great step for our countries to get to know each other," said Olena Zelenska.
For her part, Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani supported the initiative of the wife of the President of Ukraine and expressed hope it would be only the first step in cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the parties discussed a number of specific projects in the cultural sphere. In particular, the exchange of experience between employees of museum institutions of the two countries, holding joint events in Ukraine and the State of Qatar in the field of culture, art and fashion, as well as the introduction of online exhibitions that became relevant in times of COVID-19.
As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska made a state visit to Qatar on April 5.
In 2020, at least nine Ukrainian-language audio guides were launched in museums around the world as part of the project of First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
In February 2021, a Ukrainian-language audio guide appeared at the Princes Czartoryski Museum in Krakow, Poland. This year it is also planned to launch Ukrainian-language audio guides in the Tower of London, the Palace of Versailles, the National Museum of Natural History in Berlin, the Vatican Museum, the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and the Savitsky State Museum of Art in Uzbekistan.
