President’s Office: Worst COVID-19 dynamics recorded in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk regions

Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions currently have the largest dynamics of growth in the number of COVID-19 patients. 

This was announced at a conference call on preventing the spread of coronavirus, which was chaired by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrinform reports referring to the president’s press service.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, in particular, said that there are more than 263,000 active patients in the country today.

"Out of 63,000 beds with supplied oxygen, 39,000 are occupied. Some 2,652 out of 4,909 intensive care beds are occupied," the PM said.

Shmyhal added that a meeting of the State Commission for Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies was held on March 20, as a result of which the city of Kyiv and Odesa region were included in the "red" zone.

In addition, this morning, the prime minister held a meeting with ministers to develop mechanisms with local governments for joint support of business and people in the "red" zones.

As of March 22, Ukraine recorded 7,893 new coronavirus cases over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,554,256.
