Salaries of education workers to grow by another 9% this year - Shkarlet

"At the President’s initiative and with government’s support, the salaries of education workers will grow by 20% in 2021. We still plan to increase them by another 9% from December 1," the minister said in his speech during the dialogue platform "Education of Ukraine 2021: Strategic Goals in Action", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Shkarlet stressed that education workers had coped with the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that the state would look for mechanisms and funds to increase the prestige of teacher’s profession. The 2021 state budget envisages almost UAH 140 billion for the education and science sector. Most of these funds will be directed to the salaries of education workers.
