Stepanov: Number of confirmed COVID-19 cases growing in Ukraine

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has grown in Ukraine in the past week, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

“A total of 60,748 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded over the past week, which is almost 6,000 more than the week before last. Over the past week, 22,514 people have been hospitalized, compared with 21,000 hospitalizations registered over the week before last. The hospitalization rate is growing,” Stepanov said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to data provided by the Health Ministry, 395,000 PRC and express tests have been conducted over the past week.

As reported, on March 16, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine reached 1,477,190, including 9,642 new coronavirus cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
