1M trees to be planted in 100 countries on March 20 as part of Greening of Planet project

Ukrinform reports this with reference to the organizers of the initiative.

"On March 20, 2021, 1 million trees are planned to be planted in 100 countries within one day as part of the Greening of the Planet global environmental project. The project is organized by the Ukrainian Charitable Foundation ‘Greening of Ukraine’, which was founded by Serhiy Haidaychuk, President of CEO Club Ukraine, the largest business club uniting Ukrainian business leaders, and Hanna Krysiuk, President of Business Woman Club," the report reads.

On October 17, 2020, more than 50,000 Ukrainians planted more than 2 million trees in one day, setting a record of Ukraine. And already in the current year, 2021, taking into account the ecological situation in the world, the organizers decided to involve other countries in greening, and this is more than 100 foreign countries.

“Everything in nature is a cycle of mutual cooperation. We live in a world of technologies that have made our pace of life incredibly fast and make us constantly rush without looking around. It is known that the world's climate is changing irreversibly, and every year the temperature in some parts of the Earth reaches abnormal levels. Our comfortable life depends on oxygen ... Trees are the "lungs" of the planet. It depends only on us what will be the house in which our children will live, and how we can mitigate the consequences for future generations," Krysiuk said.

The goal of the Greening of the Planet project is to draw attention to the problems of global warming and the restoration of the planet's ecosystem, as well as to form a positive image of Ukraine.

"One person will never be able to achieve what tens, thousands, millions will achieve in cooperation. Our tree planting initiative is about unification. Deforestation, exploitation of seas and soils, air and water pollution - all these factors are pushing our world towards environmental disaster. And when united, people can work miracles, restore the ecosystem, and build a worthy future for their children. Our mission is to plant 100 million trees around the planet in three years, but our even greater achievement will be to unite 100 million people from different segments of the population through the Greening of the Planet project. Let's help our Planet!" Haidaychuk called to join the project.

Anyone can take part in the initiative in the following formats:

1. Participant: plants his own tree and sends photos and geolocation to the official website.
2. Co-organizer: organizes planting of 100 trees in one of 100 countries.
3. Partner: provides material and technical assistance in the implementation of the project.

Following the campaign, all planted trees will be placed on the project's geolocation map and added to the planting of 100 million trees.
