Kyiv reports 286 new COVID-19 cases

Kyiv city has recorded 286 new coronavirus cases in the past day, bringing the total number to 142,316, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“+286 confirmed coronavirus cases (in total, 142,316),” the mayor wrote on his Facebook page on March 8.

Among people who have contracted COVID-19 in Kyiv in the past day are 158 women aged 18-86 years; 12 girls aged 3-16 years; 106 men aged 19-87 years; and 10 boys aged between 4 months and 16 years.

Eighteen coronavirus deaths were confirmed in Kyiv over the past day. Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the city has reached 2,785.

At the same time, two people recovered in Kyiv over the past day. In total, 96,330 Kyiv residents have overcome the disease.

As of March 8, Ukraine reported 1,406,800 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 5,572 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
