“There is no consensus, discussions are still ongoing. We will join these discussions. Moreover, we will offer our experience. The register of vaccinated persons, which has been working since March 1, is a ready-made state register of such electronic verifications,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said during a press conference dedicated to the results of the year of the Government’s activities under his chairmanship, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to Shmyhal, it is important that the verification of coronavirus vaccination becomes international. The PM believes that electronic verification is a more reliable tool than paper passports as the latter can be forged.
As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainians would be able to travel to the EU only after they got vaccinated against COVID-19.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Commission intended to present proposals for the introduction of "digital green passes", which would contain information on vaccination, test results or acquired immunity against COVID-19, in March.
Over the past day, March 3, Ukraine reported 10,057 new COVID-19 cases, 194 patients died. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,374,762 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Ukraine.
