Kyiv City Council allocates UAH 140M for COVID-19 vaccination

Kyiv City Council has supported a decision to allocate UAH 140 million from the city budget for vaccination of Kyiv residents.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, the decision was supported by 89 members of the Kyiv City Council.

Thus, the Council made changes to the Health of Kyivans city target program for 2020-2022.

In accordance with the changes, the city plans to allocate UAH 140 million for the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19 in 2021. This makes it possible to vaccinate about 500,000 people in Kyiv.

Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the city authorities expect to sign a contract for the purchase of 1 million doses of vaccine in the near future. That is, the capital will be able to vaccinate a total of half a million of the most vulnerable people.

As previously reported, Klitschko announced talks with several manufacturers regarding the purchase of a COVID-19 vaccine for the capital.
