The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved the law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Accounting of Employee's Labor Activity in Electronic Form".

The relevant document, No.3623, was supported by 265 MPs at a parliament’s meeting on February 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the explanatory note, the law aims to introduce employee labor records in electronic form, as well as legislative regulation of the issue on automatic assignment of pensions through the personal electronic account of the person on the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

According to the document, the reform of accounting of employee's labor activity envisages a gradual abolition of employment record books.

The changes will also help eliminate possible risks and negative consequences of the loss of the employment record book, its physical damage, falsification and entry of inaccurate information in this document.

Keeping employment records of the employee in electronic form will ensure the required conditions for the introduction of automatic assignment of pensions and social benefits.

The law establishes a five-year transition period for the inclusion in the state register of information from paper employment records of employee's labor activity.
