Pfizer preparing documents to register its vaccine in Ukraine - Liashko

"Yesterday there was a phone call with Pfizer headquarters, and we received assurances that all documents for registration of the Pfizer vaccine in Ukraine will be submitted in the near future. I emphasize that the vaccine will be used in Ukraine only when it is properly registered. MPs have recently voted for and the president of Ukraine signed a law that allows the registration of the vaccine against COVID-19 under a simplified procedure," Liashko said at a briefing on Friday, February 5.

He recalled that Ukraine would receive the first batch of the vaccine in the amount of 117,000 doses under the COVAX scheme in February and stressed that vaccination would be voluntary and free.

"In Ukraine, vaccination against COVID-19 will begin in February, and will be voluntary and free," Liashko said.

According to Liashko, this amount of vaccine will be immediately distributed for vaccination of health workers, as well as employees of institutions that provide medical care to patients with the coronavirus disease.

A total of 4,923 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine on February 4.
