The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine will send to YouTube the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the imposition of sanctions against the 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK TV channels with a request to shut down their YouTube channels.

Culture and Information Policy Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko wrote about this on his Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

"The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy will send to YouTube the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine regarding sanctions against the NewsOne, ZIK and 112 Ukraine TV channels with a request to close their channels on YouTube," he wrote.

According to him, these channels, against which NSDC sanctions were imposed, pose an information threat to Ukraine's national security through air, satellite or Internet broadcasting, since they are not media outlets or regular broadcasters, but part of Russia's propaganda war against Ukraine.

"Of course, YouTube has its own channel closure policy, but I am sure the popular platform should know who exactly finances and produces hostile content and how," Tkachenko noted.

As Ukrinform reported, on February 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against the NewsOne, ZIK and 112 Ukraine TV channels, as well as their owner, MP from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, Taras Kozak. The sanctions, among other things, provide for the revocation of licenses of these pro-Russian TV channels.

As of the morning of February 3, the broadcasting of NewsOne, ZIK and 112 Ukraine was blocked. However, their programs are broadcast on YouTube channels.
