Almost 11,000 cases of ARVI and flu recorded in Kyiv last week

Almost 11,000 cases of influenza and acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) have been recorded in the city of Kyiv last week, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

"Doctors record the rapid spread of seasonal diseases. According to the Kyiv City Laboratory Center of the Health Ministry of Ukraine, almost 11,000 patients with influenza and ARVI were registered in the capital last week," Klitschko said at a briefing on Wednesday.

In particular, more than 7,800 adults and almost 3,000 children fell ill.

As of January 21, Ukraine reported 1,177,621 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 5,583 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
