Highest incidence of COVID-19 in Ukraine recorded in five regions

As of January 2, the highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was registered in Lviv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr and Sumy regions.

"Over the past day, the largest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was recorded in Lviv (434), Kyiv (407), Mykolaiv (391), Zhytomyr (378) and Sumy (361) regions," the Health Ministry reported.

In total, according to the Public Health Center, 5,038 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine as of January 2.

In particular, 2,606 recoveries and 51 deaths were recorded in Ukraine on January 1. Some 17,930 coronavirus tests, including 14,975 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 2,955 ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) tests, were performed in the past 24 hours.
