Health Ministry names regions with highest incidence of coronavirus cases

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was recorded in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv regions and the city of Kyiv, according to data provided by the Health Ministry on December 31.

In particular, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days in Zaporizhzhia region amounted to 559.3 per 100,000 people, in Mykolaiv region – 503.1, in Cherkasy region – 485.1, in Kyiv region – 479.2, in Odesa region – 424.9, in Chernihiv region – 403.6, and the city of Kyiv – 499.1.

An average incidence rate across Ukraine is 323.7 per 100,000 people.

The bed occupancy rate at COVID-19 designated hospitals across the country in the past five days amounted to 36.3% as of December 30. In Kyiv city, this figure amounted to 44.1%.

The highest level of bed occupancy rate was recorded in Mykolaiv region (50.2%).

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 1,055,047 coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine on December 31, including 9,699 new COVID-19 cases registered in the past 24 hours.
