Germany has donated 18 Dräger ventilators (NModel EVITA V 600) to Ukrainian hospitals for a total amount of over EUR 500,000, the press service of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine reports.

The ventilators worth almost EUR 525,000, purchased by the German Federal Foreign Office, were handed over to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine through the Public Health Center.

The embassy recalled that this year Germany had supported Ukraine several times by providing it with medical equipment to combat COVID-19. In particular, in April, the State Emergency Service received protective suits, masks and 200 portable disinfection devices worth about EUR 175,000.

In addition, Germany sent protective suits, respirators, face masks, surgical gloves, and ARS-CoV-2 rapid antibody tests to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

The embassy added that along with the medical humanitarian cargo, Germany plans to support Ukraine in the fight against COVID-19 by allocating EUR 150 million in an untied financial loan provided in 2015.
