Minister Tkachenko: Economic potential of creative industries not revealed yet
"Creative industries are the locomotive of Ukraine's economy with untapped potential. Creative industries and their impact on the formation of a successful state should not be underestimated. They are an invariable element of the Ukrainian economy, and already secure almost 4% of the country's GDP. Unfortunately, the vast majority of society considers that culture and creative industries are not paramount. Although it’s just the other way around," Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko said at a live conference dedicated the results of the Ministry’s activities in 2020 and plans for next year, Ukrinform correspondent reported.
He noted that the strategic goals of the Ministry for 2021-2024 are aimed at creating a safe language and information space, increasing the capacity of the population to critically perceive and use information, providing the population of Ukraine with high-quality and affordable cultural services and opportunities for self-fulfilment and preserving, protecting, promoting the cultural heritage and cultural values of the Ukrainian people.
On June 4, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksandr Tkachenko to as the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
