Health Ministry names regions with highest incidence of coronavirus cases

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was recorded in Kyiv city, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Volyn regions, according to data provided by the Health Ministry on December 23.

In particular, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days in Kyiv city amounted to 627.4 per 100,000 people, in Zaporizhzhia region – 616.5, in Cherkasy region – 587.2, and in Chernihiv region (573.8).

The high incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days was also recorded in Kyiv region (521.1), Odesa region (511), Mykolaiv region (513.6), and Volyn region (458.5).

An average incidence rate across Ukraine is 373.9 per 100,000 people.

The bed occupancy rate at COVID-19 designated hospitals across the country in the past five days amounted to 39.9% as of December 23. In Kyiv city, this figure amounted to 47.2%.

The high level of bed occupancy rate was recorded in Mykolaiv region (66.3%) and Odesa region (53.6%).

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 1,001,132 coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine on December 24, including 11,490 new COVID-19 cases registered in the past 24 hours.
