"We discussed possible cooperation between our countries within the framework of the Swiss Cooperation Program Ukraine 2020-2023," Tkachenko posted on Facebook.
He specified that the program focuses on decentralization in culture (creating cultural centers and reforming the financial system of cultural services), digital transformation (launching digital projects to make culture more accessible and interactive), strengthening the competitiveness of the creative economy, in particular through folk arts and crafts.
According to the minister, culture together with education can unite society. However, the role of culture for the state is currently not recognized, and its weight and value are underestimated. "We will change that with international support. As the ambassador aptly noted, culture is one of the components that can ensure peace. And I agree with this statement," the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine noted.
Tkachenko thanked Wild for the frank and sincere conversation and the Swiss Embassy for their cooperation.
